Krabi
Krabi is a city on the shores of the Andaman Sea and the capital of the province of Krabi, where steep limestone cliffs, beaches with velvet sand and clear water await you. Not far from the coast are several dozen islands. The province also includes the islands of Phi Phi Phi, where the famous movie “The Beach” was filmed.
The name is derived from the Thai word “krabi”, which means sword and, contrary to a widespread misconception, has nothing to do with crabs.
The distance from Phuket Island to Krabi Town is 200 kilometers by land and 60 kilometers by boat or ferry, across the sea. The peculiarity of this southern region is the limestone cliffs overgrown with vegetation and vertically protruding from the water. These giant giants, scattered in the coastal waters from Krabi to Phuket, are incredibly picturesque and attract thousands of tourists from all over the world.
Krabi is famous for its thousands of years of history, dating back to the oldest human settlements found in the world. Proof of the presence of ancient people here are found by archaeologists ceramic shards, tools, household items, which are safely stored in the museum Wat Klong.
Krabi, like Phuket, is a region of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in the south of the country. Snow-white sand, clear water of ultramarine color, almost everywhere a gentle approach to the water – picturesque coasts, where you will have a paradise vacation!
